Revit Architecture Beyond the Basics

After learning the basics, many Revit users never get an opportunity to advance their skills due to the pressures of working in an architectural firm. And you are probably aware that you could be working smarter by how long it takes you to complete certain modelling tasks, compared to others. Does this sound like you? Our 2-day Revit Architecture Beyond the Basics course is your chance to improve your modelling using a wide range of intermediate skills.

Course content for Revit Architecture Beyond the Basics

  • Set up a site by linking CAD files to establish location information
  • Understand coordinates, shared coordinates and project orientation, relocate a project's elevation
  • Take advantage of the Toposurface tool in Revit to bring in survey data for your site model
  • Assign materials to surfaces to identify roads, lakes, hills
  • Add parking spaces & vegetation, render the site, create a parking space schedule
  • Understand phasing - differentiate between existing, new and temporary elements of the building
  • Save time by grouping components such as model elements, details or annotations
  • Understand design options - set up multiple layouts for a section of a building model
  • Use massing to quickly create a concept design and then convert your sketches into design components
  • Develop the shape and footprint of a building from scratch
  • Edit profiles, add edges for more complex 3D masses
  • Add walls, roofs, curtain systems, and floors to a mass element
  • Work with tools for defining usable space, including room elements / boundaries / tags, area plans
  • Create colour schemes for powerful space planning and analysis
  • Provide more realistic views to help you visualise your work and communicate your design
  • Graphically view sun locations and their impact on your project for early-stage analysis
  • Create solar studies including still, single day and multi-day studies
  • Show off your design with renderings that include materials, lighting, daylight, people, furniture
