Civil 3D Quick Start

Civil engineers, land planners, surveyors, drafters, and anyone creating supporting documents for site design can benefit from our Civil 3D Quick Start course. This course is for you if you need to conduct a quick assessment on a site's viability without doing the detailed design. Or you may need to use Civil 3D for a relatively simple design, such as a car park. This course will not cover road design, assemblies, corridor design or pipe networks using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Course content for Civil 3D Quick Start:

• Use point data to create a site plan that is physically and legally accurate   
• Create a continuous surface that you can use to display contours and elevations accurately 
• Increase the accuracy of elevation calculations 
• Create a 3D representation of your data 
• Create horizontal alignments to represent buildings, roads, pavements, car parks, wetlands 
• Use profiles to slice through the terrain along an alignment to analyse your site  
• Use sections to slice through your site in a perpendicular direction 
• View your design from three different perspectives - plan, profile and section - simultaneously 
• Transform a 2D schematic into a 3D site model by adding a directional surface to elevations 
• Review the cut and fill site volume calculations based on the terrain model you are shaping
